What is your new venture?
My latest book “A Simply Healthy Life” is the culmination of my learnings over the past 12 years of trying to live a healthy and intentional life. It’s so easy to feel overwhelmed with all of the options of how to live your life. But in reality, the solutions are quite simple and easily implemented, and could help give you the energy and purpose you’ve been looking for! My audience and who I typically work with are high-achieving, burned out, exhausted women.
I wrote this book to cut through the noise and provide solutions for how you can easily live a healthy, intentional life. “A Simply Healthy Life” will show you how to:
* Envision what it would look like for you to feel genuinely happy and healthy;
* Fuel your body so you feel great and integrate exercise in a way that is realistic and shame-free;
* Create a clutter-free, non-toxic home;
* Use spiritual practices like Sabbath rest to grow deeper in your relationship with God;
* Set up your day with habits to reinforce your healthier choices, and more!
When you make purposeful choices about your health, spiritual growth, and relationships, you will be able to flourish―and help those you love flourish too.

Why does the world need what you're offering?
The word “healing” has been spoken over my life. This healing is both my own and my facilitation of healing in others.
My book “A Simply Healthy Life” helps you set up habits and create a lifestyle that will help you heal and flourish.
Too often people are sick, exhausted, and unfulfilled, but feel overwhelmed with too many solutions and don’t know where to start. As a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, I have the training necessary to help people implement lasting, impactful behavior change. My book walks you through my personal experiences in every area, the science and the WHY in an easily-digestible way, and then the HOW in a way that feels easy to implement.

What was the moment(s) that prompted you to start it?
It’s often said that your pain becomes your passion. As a child, I was sick very frequently. I had stomachaches so often I stopped letting my parents know. These digestive issues persisted into my adult life. I found the love of my life in college, and immediately after graduating, we got married! We moved to Savannah, Georgia. The "Plan" was for Chaz to finish medical school, and maybe 8-10 years later start our family. God had other plans! Six weeks later, we were pregnant with our sweet Ella Rae.
Ella Rae was born early, at just 30 weeks gestation. She was born rapidly in the ER, and she stayed in the NICU for 5 weeks. I say that Ella Rae is the reason I'm now living the life of my dreams! Her neonatologist told me there was no way that she could go to daycare during flu and RSV season as a premature baby, so the amazing company I was working for let me work from home. My entrepreneurial drive started immediately. In addition to my web design job, I started doing freelance graphic design. I also started creating custom wedding invitations.
My husband and I had been near-vegan for almost 5 years when it was time to feed Ella Rae solids... And I had a complete nutritional crisis! It was one thing to be making that choice for myself, but I didn't feel like it was the best choice for my premature baby who we needed to ensure was growing properly. I had always loved health and nutrition, so I went back to the drawing board... This was 2013, the time of the Paleo diet's earliest rumblings. The concept intrigued me so much that I read every book I could on the subject. We decided to go from near-Vegan to Paleo overnight, just trying it for 30 days. The results were outstanding. I had the first stomachache-free days of my life! We shed excess weight, felt amazing, and had more energy than ever before!
Back in these days, there weren't many recipes that followed this way of eating... So I used my love of cooking and started creating my own! With my expertise in graphic design and web development, I created a brand and a website and voila! I had my very own blog! Since then I’ve published a cookbook, created a podcast, become a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, and now I have published my latest book, “A Simply Healthy Life.”

Who are some people in your life that have been influential in getting you to where you are today?
I absolutely wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for the unwavering support of my husband Chaz. He has been supporting me in my hopes and dreams since I wanted to be a singer in college and he bought me a performance keyboard. While my passions have changed, his support never has. We are yin and yang. He is a steadfast enneagram 9, and I am a spunky and passionate enneagram 7. He taught me SO many of the principles in my book, like prioritizing minimalism, simplicity, and Sabbath. Our differing strengths continually help us both to grow.

What question did I NOT ask that I should have asked, if I want to learn some interesting info from you? :)
I started out this wellness business creating recipes… But I eventually realized that what I love the most about health is helping people get to the bottom of what’s going on… That’s why I became a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach. And that’s also why I’m in school to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. I will be able to offer functional and conventional testing to get to the root cause of symptoms, and then create nutrition plans, lifestyle changes, and supplement protocols to facilitate healing.
